Discussion and Update Regarding the DSA
Presented by Doug Humphrey, Regional Manager for DSA Los Angeles
Doug is the first architect to manage a regional office of DSA since 1933.
The Division of State Architect and the State Architect are charged with the design and construction oversight of all K through 12 public schools and community colleges as well as State Universities and Universities of the California UC system.
DSA plays a pivotal role in developing code standards for accessibility, structural safety, and fire and life safety as well as mandatory and voluntary standards for the application of the CAL Green Code. In the evolving social and economic climate of the State of California, DSA insures the application of the highest standards of the architectural profession to these very critical public projects.
Doug will outline the duties and role of DSA as well as what changes are in store for Division of the State Architect (DSA) as we get into 2014.
