CALL FOR INTERESTED POTENTIAL FELLOWSHIP CANDIDATES

We’re pleased to announce that our three 2019 Fellowship candidates, Michael Burch, Mark Gangi, and Jim Spencer were all elevated to fellowship this year.  Their investiture will be held on June 7th at A'19 AIA Conference on Architecture 2019 in Las Vegas

The chapter Fellowship Committee had its first 2019 meeting March 11th.  We are committed to mentoring those members interested in the program and perhaps submitting qualifications in the future.  If attending the AIA National Convention in Las Vegas this year, see the “Demystifying Fellowship” seminar.

For those interested in submitting this year, please respond by noon, April 5th, 2019.

The AIA Fellowship program honors architects who have significantly contributed to architecture and society on a national level in a specific category and achieved a standard of excellence in the profession.

Eligible AIA architect members may be nominated either 1) by their local Chapter, or 2) by a petition signed by any five Fellows in good standing or any ten AIA members in good standing.  Once nominated, Nominees are required to submit their portfolio online through AIA National’s website, with a submittal fee, before 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time in October (date to be confirmed).

Visit the AIA website for additional information and useful resources.  Refer to this to understand the application process and the “Objects”.  You’ll be required to select one Object and build your application/submittal around that object.

Our Fellowship Committee has scheduled meetings for 5/13, 6/10, 7/8, 8/12, 9/9, and 10/7 to help the nominees prepare their submittal.  We expect AIA/LA will also invite AIA P&F nominees to participate in their fine Fellowship candidate program.  We can help you prepare a successful submittal.
