Karen Compton
Principal , A3K Consulting

Karen Compton has over 15 years of experience in the architecture/engineering and construction (A/E/C) industry, and has served as Director of Business Development and Director of Marketing for small companies, mid-sized, multi-office firms and national and international corporations. Ms. Compton’s focused approach to business development is based on a thorough understanding of the A/E/C environment and needs and expectations of the client. Her integrated approach of business management and business development has resulted in increased revenues of as much as 20% and the alignment of long- and short-term business goals and objectives for a variety of firms. Under the direction of Ms. Compton, A3K Consulting launched Industry Speaks™ in August 2011-- a national, web based platform that allows business to business networking of design professionals and business consultants in a variety of areas including human resources, leadership, finance, marketing, management and legal. An accomplished author, Ms. Compton has been published in a variety of industry publications. Additionally, she has developed and delivered more than 500 hours of course content in the last five years and has been a featured speaker of the American Institute of Architects, PSMJ Resources, the American Society of Landscape Architects and the National Organization of Minority Architects on the subjects of business development and strategic planning. Ms. Compton holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Mount St. Mary’s College in Chemistry where she currently serves as a member of the Board of Regents; and an Advanced Management Certificate from the University Of Southern California.


 


Cancellation Policy: Cancellations made at least one week prior to the event will be refunded, less a $10 cancellation and processing fee. No refunds for cancellations will be given after that time. No refunds shall be issued for no-shows. Registration may be transferred to another individual.” AIAPF reserves the right to cancel any event where the minimum number of pre-registration registrants is not met. If such a cancellation occurs, registrants will be notified and given the opportunity to select an alternate and comparable event to attend. In the event such an alternate and comparable class is not available, then the registration fees will be refunded as appropriate.
